Lethal Weapon
Amazon. co. uk ReviewMel Gibson set aside his art house credentials to star as a crazy cop paired with a stable (Danny Glover) in this full-blown 1987 Richard Donner action picture. The most violent film in the series (which includes three sequels), Lethal Weapon is the edgiest and most interesting. After Gibson's character jumps off a building handcuffed to a man, and Gary Busey (as a cold, efficient Enforcer) allows you to burn your hand without flinching, there is a sense that A. . . More>>

I just love Mel and Danny together in this film, there's comedy, sadness and true grit in this film. No one to buy to watch again and again.

It must be said that the eighties for movies was pretty dire and it was not a good time to be a fan of movies, but fortunately, one or two gems held up. In my case, this and Die Hard were the best thrillers to come out then. I still think it has a little more about Die Hard. He occasionally in a good mood, even if it has a rather unpleasant story, but it is also the meeting of two guys who become great friends. All this seems rather cliche now, but this thing Buddy is still in place, after all, look at Rush Hour. The famous scene is of course when Riggs is trying to blow his own head, a suicide attempt and we had not seen such things before. It is better to forget the terrible legacy, and yes I do think they are so bad. The first sequel managed to rise a little, but it was too cartoon for me. The worst mistake they made with the legacy was to lighten up. The original and the only one I have resisted the best because it is darker and is what I love.

This is probably one of those 80 years of action movies that go with so many other infamous titles, all containing lethal weapons, including several famous slogans that have been overused in every comedy known to man over the years. Classic 80 shows that people may call great, and although the acting is decent and mel and Glover give performances more suited, all 80's isn't really acting very well, but do you really have to love with the greatness of 80's fashion. Well deserved cult action film with enough action well paced and laughter to keep you entertained throughoutm They Dont really do this kind of action movie over with this kind of charm to it.

I watched Lethal Weapon 3 today, after buying the trilogy (I have not seen 4, and I only buy movies I remember seeing and liking). It's always so good and funny as I remembered, the other two films are. There's just something so right chemistry between Murtaugh (Danny Glover) and Riggs (Mel Gibson). I do not think other players could do the job. You really worry for us both. Danny Glover and Gibson laugh endless one-liners never fail to make me laugh. What advantage is these movies are often laugh-out-loud funny, serious jerkingly tear in a few moments. They keep you riveted on the scene, applauded the fight for right and wrong "get the bad guys. And when do you feel exhileration real and want to punch the air not very similar Riggs (like in Lethal Weapon 2 when he took the whole house collapsed down the hillside, killing the bad guys inside!) Some say that this is only a snapshot, the numbers paint film making. Perhaps it is, but it works! Even now, decades on, Lethal Weapon 1, 2 3 still hold up and all-action, no-holds-barred, kick-ass funny flicks. The only thing I do not understand is, Lethal Weapon 1 and 2 are 18 cert, with a fiery language and violence; Lethal Weapon 3 is 15, although it has strong language farmer (many " melon "references, if you know what I mean) and swearing and general abuse of firearms required. Why certification lowest? Anyway, if you are experienced in this series, just buy Lethal Weapon first to decide. But they are all worthwhile, in my opinion. Well, at least 1.2 3 are.

With 'Die Hard' in the late '80s, "Lethal Weapon 'is one of those rare genre defying action movies. Not only is he a brilliant thrill-ride, but it is also one of the best buddy films of the market. Mel Gibson stars as crazy Los Angeles police officer Martin Riggs, who is a time bomb ready to explode. Teamed with the new spouse and family man Murtaugh (Danny Glover) The pair run off to stop a gang of murderous mercenaries. Packed with the usual stunts, capers and action this is a rare jewel, which has generated three sequels, all directed by Richard Donner. Unfortunately, they were not as exciting nor as hard edged as the original.
