cats mating problems? why the female refuse to mate with my male cat?
I have a male cat , skipy, and my friend brought her female cat in to mate with him..
the problem is she is very very aggressive and this being my frist time to c this i am very scared..
what should i do to calm her down and encourage her to mate with my skopa?
You shouldn't force them to have kittens. There are already too many homeless cats and kittens in this world, explain to me why you would want to add to that largely increasing number. Also, will your friend have the time and money to take care of the kittens that her cat has? You should both have your cats spayed and neutered.

Maybe she just isn't interested in him.

Is she in heat? if not, all you will do is make her annoyed…
And, she just may not like him….

Cat's mating is not a calm thing and for the most part the male has to grab the female on the back of the neck and rape her. This is the way it works for cats……. Sorry

HI,
Does your friend want a whole litter of kittens to take care of? Why not get them both fixed. It's kinder and healthier for the cats in the long run. I volunteer at a homeless cat shelter and there are just too many kitties out there without homes. Perhaps your friend can adopt a kitten from a shelter.

She's trying to tell you to have her spayed! She doesn't want to be pregnant!

Maybe you should try doing what China did to encourage their Panda's to mate…. show them kitty pornography! I'm just kidding. Really.
Cats are pretty funny. They generally don't like other cats in their area. The best way to get her knocked up is to put them in a large area (where they can get away from each other). My friend breeds Bengal cats and they have their basement set up as the "kitty champagne room" if you will. It's also a large play area for the cats… but when one of her cats goes into heat, she clears everybody out and leaves them in there for some "alone time."
It only takes a minute or two. The female MUST be in heat.
Also, there might be something genetic with the male that she doesn't like. Chromosomes play a large part in reproduction. Have you ever passed a guy on the street and thought "Dang! He's yummy!" even though he's physically not your type? It means that he is a chromosomal match. It's one of those quirks. I was dating this super hot guy (I mean, he was HOT) and I just wasn't attracted to him sexually. It was inexplicable. I mean, he was a model, for heaven's sake! I just didn't wanna. All animals are like that.

Make sure she is in heat, and give them a quiet room alone, cats usually don't like to mate in public. You can have the claws coated at the vet, it will cut down the ability to scratch and comes off after a few weeks. I don't recommend if these are outside cats. She may not like your skopa, so that's always a possibly. Also, you may need to find neutral ground for both due to dominance issues. Feline mating rituals are also not exactly loving so let them be. Unfortunately, domesticated cats don't have the strong wild instincts their wilder co-parts do. It may take a few times of being together for them to get the point. Good luck.

don't! get them both altered and don't bring any more kittens into the world. believe me, there is no shortage at all, millions are euthanized in shelters every years because there are not enough homes to go around… even purebreds. we have food banks here that give out pet food because too many people were abandoning their animals and letting them starve. there are record number of animals being left at shelters now because of the economy and foreclosures. many of those animals that are dropped off are euthanized before their owners even get out of the parking lot simply because there are not enough homes and no more room at the shelter.
I am fostering 2 feral queens and 16 kittens right now. I also have 11 indoor rescue cats. there is no shortage. I would suggest that if you want a kitten then go to a shelter and get one, maybe even two..there are plenty. Personally I would not adopt a kitten to you because of what you are asking right now. I have a very strict spay/neuter policy. it is for my benefit as well as the animal's. if I adopted one out to you, then who knows…in a year are you going to dump a pregnant queen or a litter of kittens on my doorstep? yeah.. become a responsible pet owner and have your pet spayed and/or neutered!!!

I truly do not understand why you would want to breed your cat. Whatever reasons you have, just know that breeding should not be done hastily.
Also, you simply cannot force a female cat to mate with a male cat. They need to connect and although female cats do mate with different males during her heat cycle, that does not always mean that she will mate with any male cats.
It is also important for you and your friend to understand a cat's reproductive cycle. A female becomes fertile several times a year. This is known as the heat cycle, and for a few specific days within this cycle, she will be fertile and accept a male. When these days occur is individual to the cat and will be influenced by size, age, and if she has had previous breedings.
Lastly, please think twice before breeding. And please understand that you simply cannot have kittens that look like Skopa, act like Skopa, be like Skopa. Each kitten born are unique and rarely resemble their parents.

Perhaps the cats are more responsible than you are - they don't WANT to mate.
Why on earth are you wanting to breed your cat? Do you really have no clue about the pet overpopulation problem? How every day THOUSANDS of cats and kittens are put to death because there's just not enough homes for them? Why would you want to add to this problem? Every kitten you'd bring into this world means one PUT TO DEATH at your local shelter. Is that really OK with you?
How about instead you and your friend go volunteer at your local shelter so you can educate yourself and do something POSITIVE for the homeless animals. Then you will realize breeding your cat is idiotic and hopefully will come to right side of the fence with those of us who realize spaying and neutering is a must.

Look, I can understand everyone’s point about the pet overpopulation. The problem is most people are not able to shell out the 100 bucks they ask for up front, before you can even take the kitten home. If they are truely worried about the pet overpopulation, then lower the price of taking some of these pets home.
Perhaps your cats don’t like each other. The mating process is not an easy one and the cats should be taken somewhere neutral. Let them alone, and hope for the best. It may tak several sessions to get the results that you are looking for. Be sure your friends cat is in season.
This being said, be sure that you and your friend are prepared for the responsibility of kittens and are ready to shoulder the cost of between 2-10 additional cats in the household.
Good luck!!

I’m also trying to mate my 3 year old female cat, for the simple reason, I cant go out and bring home just any kitten. My cat is very anti-social with other cats. After and IF she does mate, she’s a tabby, im trying to mate her with a male tabby, she’s in heat now, but hopefully if they do mate, i’ll get her spayed and neutered after this batch of kittens

people on this site are mean. i am trying to breed my cat, too. because there is such a high demand for hypo-allergenic kittens. we cant have just any cat, or else i would have gotten a free kitten instead of going through this. people have their own reason for breeding their cats, and if done responsibly, they shouldn’t be attacked on the site where they post their questions.
