Has anyone had a similar experience and would my cats behavior change much?

I had a friend watch my siamese cat while I went on an extended business trip 2 1/2 months ago. The friend lives 30 miles from my home. A few days later the cat ran away.

2 days ago, I received a call saying that someone had found the cat after about 2 months on the loose, skinny and dirty, but otherwise OK, per a vet check.

When I go away anywhere I have someone come to my home to feed my cats and check on them. Taking them out of their home can cause nervousness.
I am glad your cat was found safe. You might consider getting it microchipped so incase it ever gets out again it will be easier for shelters to get your cat back to you.

It was probably because the change was too much. I am glad someone has found her safe and well. All you can do now is help her to feel at home again.

It seems obvious to me that the cat wasn't happy with the arrangements you made while away. Personally I wouldn't ask a friend who lived thirty miles away to take care of my cats while I was away for fear that the distance was too great and the care would be skimped upon.
You're very lucky that your cat was found and you should provide better care for your cat if you need to go away in the future.
